Coredump
A while back, lets say around August 2004, I got bored.I decided that I'd give the whole blogging thing that everybody was going nuts over a try. I'd always liked to write and had kept journals from time to time, but I didn't always have one handy when I had some deep thought that I wanted to carry on about. BUT... I did always have a computer of some kind. Even it it was only my little Linux Ipaq.
So I take a look at what's out there. Movable type.. wordpress.. I didn't like any of them. Some of them had horrible dependencies, some of them were proprietary, and some of them were just plain ugly. I wanted a simple and elegant solution. A UNIX solution. So I wrote my own.
Features:
- Supremely portable, requires only php
- Update your blog securely via ssh
- Includes a shell script that generates the entry - Requires a bourne compatible shell.
- Entries may be written with a simple text editor if you do not wish to use the script, or your client is a Windows platform without Cygwin.
I'm in the process of trying to seperate my blog code from the rest of the website. I'll post a tarball when I work that out. Promise ;-)
Coredump 2.0 will be available for download next week. It'd be up sooner, but I'll be at my inlaws this weekend in booniesville without internet access :-(
